Partnerships are the cornerstone of creating positive changes in communities and achieving successful projects. Our first project—built as “Under One Roof”—is a shining example of this. The six-plex at 4100 25th Ave in Vernon is an important addition to the lives of the people who now call it home.

“Under One Roof” is a combination of three non-profit societies: Kindale Developmental Association, The Vernon & District Community Land Trust (VDCLT) and Habitat for Humanity Vernon Chapter. Since the focus of all three societies is to deal with the need for affordable housing in Vernon we are looking forward to other projects under the “Under One Roof” Banner.

Building a Global Village

This program gives volunteers the unique opportunity to provide safe, decent and affordable homes to those in need, while also travelling around the world, experiencing other countries and cultures.

A Global Village trip can be a life changing experience for you, the community you visit, and the families whose lives are changed because of your work. These trips offer participants the opportunity to build a home for a family in need, to live and work among another culture, to learn about development issues abroad, and often, to learn something about themselves.

As part of a Global Village work team you will be more than a tourist, you will be welcomed into the community by your hosts and introduced to the local culture in a unique way.
